Characters on Castle: The Castle family

There are eight (8) primary characters on Castle. In this post, I will be briefly introducing the characters who make up the Castle family.

Nathan FILLION:Richard Edgar "Rick" CASTLE played by FILLION is a best-selling mystery writer who joins the N.Y.P.D as a source of inspiration and ideas for his books.

Molly QUINN:Alexis CASTLE is played by Molly QUINN. Alexis is Rick's teen-age daughter.

Susan SULLIVAN:Martha ROGERS is Rick's mother. She lives with him and his daughter because a previous husband left her and stole all her savings.

Characters on Castle: The N.Y.P.D

There are eight (8) primary characters on Castle. In this post, I will be briefly introducing the characters who work for the New York Police Department (N.Y.P.D).

Nathan FILLION:Richard Edgar "Rick" CASTLE played by FILLION is a best-selling mystery writer who joins the N.Y.P.D as a source of inspiration and ideas for his books.

Stana KATIC:Detective Kate BECKETT is a detective who works for the N.Y.P.D. She joined the N.Y.P.D following the murder of her mother.

Jon HUERTAS:Detective Javier ESPOSITO is played by Jon HUERTAS. ESPOSITO works in the homicide division as part of BECKETT's team.

Seamus DEVER:Dective Kevin RYAN is played by Seamus DEVER. Like ESPOSITO, RYAN is part of BECKETT's detective team.

Tamala JONES:Tamala JONES plays the part of Dr. Lanie PARISH. Although technically she's not part of the N.Y.P.D, she's the doctor that works with them and analyses the dead bodies.

Ruben SANTIAGO-HUDSONCaptain Roy MONTGOMERY played by Ruben SANTIAGO-HUDSON is the captain at the N.Y.P.D.

What is Castle?

Castle is a television show (drama) that airs Monday nights on ABC at 10:00PM. The show is currently in its third season having debuted in 2009. The following is the plot for Castle:

After a serial killer imitates the plots of his novels, successful mystery novelist Richard "Rick" CASTLE (played by Nathan FILLION) gets permission from the Mayor of New York City to tag along with an N.Y.P.D. homicide investigation team for research purposes.

A "guy's guy", he proves popular with the male team members, but immediately offends the sensibilities of the team leader, Detective Kate BECKETT (Stana KATIC). Though she'll never admit it, he slowly wins her over with his innovative approach to crime solving. He brings to the table skills the others don't have: contacts in Manhattan high society, free-form creative thinking, and years of developing believable fictional characters that have inadvertently molded him into a natural criminal profiler.

But life is not all crime fighting adventure for this wealthy playboy: his relationship with BECKETT becomes even more strained when he unveils a new series of detective novels featuring a racy character based on her...
